Slow Cooker Lasagna

A super simple recipe that yields a nice lasagna dinner for your family.

Ingredients:

1 pound lean ground beef, 1 large onion, chopped, 2 garlic cloves, minced
1 can (29 oz) tomato sauce, 1 cup water, 1 can (6 oz) tomato paste
1 teaspoon salt, 1 teaspoon oregano, 1 (8 oz) package no-cook lasagna noodles
4 cups (16 oz) Mozzarella cheese, 1 ½ cups (12 oz) nonfat Cottage cheese
½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
Directions:
1. In skillet cook beef, onion and garlic over medium heat until meat is no longer pink
2. Drain meat
3. Add tomato sauce, water, tomato paste, salt and oregano – mix well
4. Spread a fourth of the meat sauce in an ungreased 5 qt slow cooker
5. Arrange a third of noodles over sauce (break noodles if necessary)
6. Combine the cheeses, spoon a third of the mixture over noodles
7. Repeat layers twice
8. Top with remaining meat sauce
9. Cover and cook on low for 4 to 5 hours or until noodles are tender
Makes 6 to 8 servings
